Skylon, London

Dais Contemporary commissioned a collection of eight miniature sculptures to be made by Royal College of Art graduate Sun Lah for the Skylon Restaurant in the South Bank Centre, London. The sculptures were inspired by the artist's larger body of work titled 'London Symphony', which was part of her final graduation show at the Royal College of Art and was made to reflect the rich diversity of characters that one can find resident in and visiting the City of London.

Each of the sculptures were made bespoke for the restaurant, being carved out of pine wood and painted with pastel paints. The group of eight were conceived by the artist to reference character types that 'one might find when walking through a crowd on the South Bank in London'.

The artworks are now part of D&D London's permanent art collection.
